Boarding on the 4th of July weekend!!

Henry was a little restless on the first night.

He made friends rather quickly with Max and Maggie.

Little Lissy seems to be everybody's friend.

Dogs are coming and going all day long

A visit with Sophie

Friday 12/02 we made the very difficult decision to put Chucky to sleep. That was very tough since it has only been 7 weeks since Shiloh had to leave us. I went from dogs every where to a little apartment with only one dog. It had been a while since Traveller and I had seen Sophie so we went and picked her up. After a while we 3 sat on the couch like we used to do when Shiloh was here. It was very sad and difficult for us to sit in the same manner as we used to and have Shiloh's spot be vacant. It will be 8 weeks tomorrow and I still cry daily. She was such a special dog. She will always be with us. I will never let her memory fade and neither will her best buddy Traveller.

Poodle

Not sure how Maggie the standard poodle joined in on that memory but she is a new client and a very special girl. Welcome to our pack Maggie.

Took a walk with Traveller in our favorite wooded park. It was so hard to walk around that park without my Shiloh. She loved that park. I was all tears thinking of how she would be running around doing her best to keep up with Travie. She would stop at the steep hills and wait for me to carry her up. She'd look at me with her soft brown eyes and they would say come on mom hurry up. I would ask her if she needed help and she would jump up off the ground just high enough for me to lift her and go.
After walking on our usual path and crying the whole way I began to smile and think of how she enjoyed this park so much and how she is still there with us and enjoying her walk.
I began to image her running up the hills on her own and looking down at me with the same warm brown eyes saying come on mom hurry up. I imagined her leading the way with no care in the world and no hint of discomfort or pain. She is gods angel now but she will always be mine too. It will be 6 weeks tomorrow since she had to go and I still cry myself to sleep and cry while I drive and cry when I watch TV. I miss her so much.

Looking for a friend for Traveller

We will be in the new house hopefully by the end of January. I am considering adding another westie to the family. Debating between a rescue or a brand new puppy. I want the puppy. It is so great to raise them from the beginning however I think Traveller would do better with an older girl. Time will tell.
